So UIs there is 1000s of them over on www.wowinterface.com (shameless plug) they come in all sorts and sizes with 4 add-ons all the way to 3000000 add-ons (kay maybe I'm over exaggerating) First I'm going to lest some good add-on compendiums, then some good add-ons to have if you just like the standard UI and last but not least ill say the add-ons i use for my daily mageing!

The reason I featured this UI first is because one its up to date so less setting up and two it works with more classes than just are lovely little mages like boomkins like in the screeny it would also be wonderful for healers as the grid set up is in the center if your into that kinda thing.
LUI:
LUI I used for a long time in Wotlk, I relly loved the fact that the color changed depending what class I was playing (apparently im a sucker for simple art changing colors) this UI come with recount, omen and grid all in older versions and if they get updated it brakes the UI noidea why im not in to that sort of thing sooo ask a guy that knows. But the layout of this is perfect for dps classes and possible tanking just incase you have toons other than your lovely mage. For healers im not to sure as personly I dont like the grid off to the left hand side. Oh and another thing about this UI is there are little buttons that you can press to hide grind, recount or omen just incase you dont feel like looking at your mage on top of the dps =).
Random Addons to consider:
Dominos/Bartnder4
both of these are Action bar addons they get rid of the yucky blizzard UI and give you some sexy clean stright bars which you can stack on top of each other to make little patterns or play tetris with. It also makes it easier to keybind things and you can save layouts for one character (like your mage) then when you feel like rolling a new mage you can just copy the layout so that you you dont need to set it all up once more handy huh? Bartnder4 now comes with a feature that lets you keep the lovely blizzard art or make it smaller but why would we wunna do that when we can play Tetris with are action bars?

Power Auras:
Power Auras is the king in notification addons all you have to do is select the type of thing you wish to display the find the spell/itemproc or what evers ID on www.wowhead.com (another shameless plug) type it in select an icon, maybe add a timer and hey presto! you have an working alert to make massive noise and image on your screen to say "DUDE YOUR THINGS PROCS KILL FASTER" or "DONT STAND THERE THATS BAD!"

My UI
well my UI is well taliored to suit me... soo i wont go in to to much depth as its personal prefence but i like simple and clean! so i use bartnder4 to make all my action bars look like im playing tetris. Power auras to warn me when I have Hyperemia (you know the thing after ice block? yea that) move anything so i can have thos horrid blizzard unit frames in the center of my screen (were i look) instead of up in the top left (were no one looks) Prat a chat addon so that it makes loud noise when i get whispers or ill forget to reply to people ^_^ and I think thats it.... if i rember any ill let you guys know.
